Bio: I was born in Oklahoma in 1959, but family brought me to Texas as quickly as they could when I was 6 months old. I grew up in Houston, and my boyhood dream was to become a veterinarian. After working at St. Joseph’s hospital during the summer of 1979, I changed my mind and decided to enter medical school at Texas A&M in 1980. I believe that my change of heart was orchestrated by God. I have never regretted the decision to become a physician, and my career has been filled with wonderful people and daily opportunities to help alleviate human suffering. I see my career as a vocation, a calling of sorts for me to be the best that I can be, to render aid where possible, and for me to help bring out the best in others. As I gain more life experiences every year in both personal and professional terms, I find my connection with my patients to be more meaningful and richer each and every day. A calling is as much about community as it is about a career, and I love being connected with the Clear Lake community through worship, neighborhood life and my practice at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center and the Breast Diagnostic Center in Webster, TX.
I have been married to Nancy for over 30 years and we have two awesome and talented children. I love being outdoors doing just about anything. On my days off, you might just find me tending to my beehives, on my tractor planting food for the wildlife or out in West Galveston bay fly-fishing for redfish.
